Markham-Stouffville Hospital (MSH) has received over $10 million to date from the Pakistani community in York Region, who held their 16th Annual Gala 23 March.

The annual event benefits the hospital who received nearly $270, 000 this year, at the event that was hosted by COPO Chair, Khalid Usman and Co-Chaired by Markham Mayor Frank Scarpitti.

Other donations awarded that evening included $15,000 to the GPCC (Global Peace Centre Canada) and another $15,000 to SSN (Social Services Network). Attendees included newly appointed Minister of Health –┬áDr. Helena Jaczek, Minister of Education – Mitzie Hunter, Deputy Mayor – Jack Heath, Regional Councillors Nirmala Armstrong and Joe Li, Ward 4 Councillor – Karen Rea, Ward 1 Councillor – Valerie Burke and Ward 8 Councillor – Alex Chiu.
